Raw Vegan Tomato Sauce Recipe

(55)

As the weather heats up, it becomes more and more tempting to avoid the kitchen. After all, who wants to turn on an oven or have the stove going when the thermometer just keeps rising? But if the urge to order takeout or grab fast food (yikes) strikes, you have a delicious alternative: my Raw Vegan Tomato Sauce.

You might be wondering why this sauce is labeled vegan since nutrition-rich tomatoes are veggies. Well, many long-cooking tomato sauces actually use milk or Parmesan cheese for extra flavor (and also some kind of sweetener!). But this raw version doesn’t use any dairy at all — or even any heat!

That’s right, you can prepare a tomato sauce without any heat or cooking. Get ready to make your new summer favorite …

In a food processor, process all the ingredients, except for the sun-dried tomatoes. Gradually add in sun-dried tomatoes until a thick, smooth paste is formed. Serve mixed in with zoodles topped with fresh basil or use as a dip with our gluten-free garlic breadsticks.

Start by adding all the ingredients except for the sun-dried tomatoes into the food processor and processing. If these don’t scream summer, I don’t know what does. Fresh, juicy tomatoes, a good dose of garlic, a dash of sea salt and green, fragrant basil.
