  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ cup coconut aminos
  • 1 teaspoon stoneground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 4 Wild caught Alaskan Salmon


  1. In a storage bag, combine first 6 ingredients and mix well. Set aside 1/4 c. of marinade in the refrigerator for basting.
  2. Add salmon to the bag and place in refrigerator to marinate for 1 hour.
  3. Drain and discard marinade.
  4. Broil or grill salmon for 4-5 min. each side. Brush with reserved marinade.

    I used to marinade things in a ziploc bag, but doesn’t the acidity leach toxins out and into your food? Is there a storage bag that won’t do this? I usually just marinade in a glass pyrex dish now.

    love this recipe, a question if I may ask….what is one to do when the coconut oil solidifies in the refrigerator. Will the marinade still take place?

    Do the coconut oil, coconut aminos, lemon juice, etc constitute a healthier ‘teriyaki’? Or, am I missing something here?
