Thyroid & Hashimoto's: where to start.

Fatigue, feeling cold, hair thinning, weight that won't move, a 'normal' TSH that doesn't match how you feel. The plain-language path: the full panel, the markers explained, the nutrients conversion depends on, and the gut connection.

Where should I start?

Three steps, in order.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Is ashwagandha safe with thyroid medication?

Ashwagandha raised thyroid hormone in a small trial, which is helpful for some and a problem for anyone on levothyroxine. Talk to your prescriber before combining them; don't self-adjust.

Why is my TSH normal but I still feel hypothyroid?

TSH is the pituitary's signal, not the hormone your cells use. Low Free T3 — poor conversion from ferritin, selenium, zinc or calorie restriction — is the common pattern.

Should I go gluten-free with Hashimoto's?

Many people with Hashimoto's see antibodies fall on a gluten-free trial; the evidence is mixed but the trial is low-risk. Test for celiac before removing gluten.
