[Below is my transcript of my video about oregano oil uses, along with supplemental information on the topic.]
I want to share with you the many benefits of oregano oil and the many oregano oil uses. Found in the Mediterranean, oregano oil has been used for over 2,500 years.
A member of the mint family (Labiatae), medicinal grade oregano is distilled to extract the essential oil and preserve its healing compounds. In fact, it takes over 1,000 pounds of wild to produce just one pound of oregano oil.
Oregano oil’s predominant healing compound is carvacrol, and recent research continues to demonstrate its healing capacity.
Oil of Oregano’s Healing Power — 4 Unique Uses
Let’s talk about oregano oil uses and specifically how you can use these in fighting infections and naturally healing your body.
The number one way oil of oregano is used today is to treat funguses and candida. For a lot of us, it’s very easy to develop things like candida in your body. Common candida symptoms include getting a white coat on your tongue or developing different types of infections. Oil of oregano has been proven in medical studies to kill off candidiasis, that bacteria or fungus that can grow within your system, and thus works as an antifungal.
Quick side note, my Mom, after going through chemotherapy years and years ago, came down with a toenail fungus and had chronic yeast issues. For 10 years, she had a toenail fungus, and we started using oil of oregano as a natural treatment for toenail fungus every day. After two months, it was completely gone. She had used different creams. She had used different medications. Nothing had worked until she used oil of oregano.
So again, for a toenail fungus or as a way to fight candida the natural way, you can put oregano oil on topically. I don’t recommend taking it internally more than 10 days in a row, but you can use oil of oregano, four drops, four times daily internally, but only for 10 days and not longer, because it’s a natural form of medicine.
Another one of oregano oil uses is to kill off bacteria. If you’re looking for natural cold remedies or want to prevent the flu, this acts very, very quickly at killing off bad bacteria and viruses within your system. In fact, there was a groundbreaking study published in Microbial Ecology in Health and Disease recently which demonstrated that oil of oregano kills off E.coli, one of those bad forms of bacteria that can cause food poisoning and cause you to get sick.
3. Anti-Parasite & Antiviral
Many people, especially when you travel overseas, you can come down with a parasite. Oil of oregano is an anti-parasitic as well, so it kills off parasites.
Oregano oil uses include leaning on its powerful antioxidant properties. In fact, it’s one of the top 10 antioxidant herbs out there today, and so if you want to age slower and live longer, oregano is great.
I don’t recommend using oil of oregano internally much unless you’re sick or doing a temporary cleanse for 10 days, but you can diffuse it around your home. You can make it as part of a personal care product. In fact, you can make homemade mouthwash with oregano oil, and it helps clean your teeth and serves as a natural remedy for bad breath and gingivitis.
Final Recommendations About Oil of Oregano
Make sure when you’re buying oregano oil that you buy from a very high quality brand. Last thing here I want to mention is that a recent study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food showed that oil of oregano can shrink tumors, and it may be an effective natural cancer treatment.
