How to Eat to Gain Muscle

In this video I will be going over nutrition tips for building muscle. I get questions all the time asking, “How can I put on more muscle?” The key is to consume more liquid calories. I recommend the superhuman shake that will help pack on the muscle. You can get the recipe here.

I also recommend consuming fats, carbs, and protein.
– For protein, you need to take your body weight and consume it in grams of quality protein each day.
– For fat, you need to consume omega 9 fatty acid, shorter chain fatty acid, and omega 3 fatty acid.
– For carbohydrates, consume some good gluten-free foods like yams, sweet potatoes, or quinoa.

If you can follow these tips, you will put on muscle faster than you ever thought possible.

    Hi Dr. Axe,

I have been diagnosed with GERD, Candida, Gastritis, Esophogitis. I am not digesting fats (disclosed in a stool test). Also, bacteria in stool. I am just started taking digestive enzymes which is helping greatly. I have lost 30 lbs in 2.5 years and am now at the very low end on the weight chart. 112 lbs, 5’4″, woman, 52 years old. I have been working with a functional nutritionist and a functional neurologist. I have bought your programs on leaky gut and essential oils. I am doing much better than I used to be, but I can’t gain any weight. I don’t like being this thin because I feel I look unhealthy. Some foods that are good for one condition are bad for the other, so I am sometimes confused on what would be best for me. My question for you is, which protcol would be best for me to follow when I have a plethora of things going on, and would help me to absorb better and gain some weight back. Thank you so much.

What about monounsaturated fats? You named the avocado but not the most important fat source in it. Olive Oil? I think those are key

Hello Doctor. I am 46 years old and am doing exercises to gain weight with muscle . I am weight lifting and increasing my diet to 5 times a day but I feel like I am gaining more fat around my belly and back and not gaining muscle or weight. Since two years ago I have problem with my digestion and have pain in my right side . The doctor says that I have malfunction of my gall bladder and my enzymes are high for my liver and pancreas. The doctor says that I need a surgery but I have a concern to do this because I believe the body can heal itself. Can you please give me advice. I am gluten-free and intolerant to lactose.
