Kale shake recipe - Dr. Axe

This kale shake recipe is amazing, for it’s not only delicious, but it’s also packed with vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin K! It’s easy to make and a great way to start your day.


Kale Shake Recipe

Total Time: 2 minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • ½ bunch kale
  • 1 banana
  • ¼ cup red grapes
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • ½ cup ice
  • ½ cup water (or until consistency is reached)

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients together in a powerful blender.

    I’ve heard mixed ideas about kale, especially eating it raw. Obviously you think it’s good for us, but what is your take on those cautioning us.

    So, I made this today, tasted great, but couldn’t tolerate the kale bits in the drink. I have a Ninja and ran the blender for a good 60sec. or more. Any suggestions to smooth out the kale better?

      Maybe try blending just the kale and liquid in the blender first before adding in the fruit and ice. Hopefully doing it first will help it to fully smooth out first and then you can add the remaining ingredients.
