Get Rid of Yeast & Bad Bacteria
If you are dealing with skin problems like acne, digestive problems, or even low energy and fatigue, chances are you have an overgrowth of yeast. Dr. Axe shows you how to get rid of yeast and candida fast and boost your entire immune system in the process.

My nephew just turned a year old and he has some candida issues. She noticed it when he got mouth thrush a few days age. She wants to do a cleanse for him but is struggling with what she should be feeding him. Wondering if you had any suggestions on a child his age?

Hi Dr. Axe, love your videos & messages. Just want your advice on something
I seem to be suffering with re-occurring body acne. I live a pretty healthy / active lifestyle, but binge on weekends.
Recently my body acne has flared up so bad, (my face has a few breakouts) I’ve started doin your all natural honey /tea tree oil treatment…
But not sure what I can do? I did about a year 1/2 ago have oral thrush, & have taken antibiotics, so I’m not sure if I might have candida now
Acne is typically a sign of what’s going on internally and can be a gut issue. Many of these issues are caused by what you eat and the condition of your gut. I would follow the protocols listed here: https://draxe.com/natural-acne-treatment/
I would also consider following the candida diet protocols listed here: https://draxe.com/candida-cures/
Hi Dr Axe, I recently have completed the 10day candida cleanse, as well as take antifungals, & probiotics… I have been sticking to the candida diet, however in 15 days is my Aunts engagement party, where there will be lots of drinking.. Is there any alchohol I can have that won’t set me back? I haven’t noticed a huge improvement in my skin yet, but overall I feel better.
Unfortunately not. Alcohol is digested as sugar which feeds the yeast and bacteria. I would bring pellegrino with lime to sip on instead so that you can still sip on a beverage without compromising all of your hard work.
Dr. Axe – I’m 31 and have been diagnosed with Rosacea for 5 years. After watching the video, I definitely think Candida is my problem and is somehow related to my Rosacea episodes. If you recommend decreasing intake of oils, which oils do I need to avoid? Do I still need a short stint of oil of oregano to rid the candida as you state in the video? Thanks for your help!
You say in your candida yeast video that grains will feed the bad bacteria. What about whole grains? My mom makes our bread from whole wheat; this is the ONLY bread we eat. Is it good or bad (acne)?
I’ve seen on other websites that whole grains are great for dealing with acne, but on others it says to avoid gluton, which is in the wheat. Which is right? -Thanks!
Sorry, but corn is actually a grain as well and not a vegetable. Ever tried pork rinds? Granted, pork is not the healthiest either, but it’s better than grains IMO. Dr. Axe might disagree with me on that one. :)
haha thanks! :-)
Hi Alex,
I am not Dr. Axe, but it doesn’t matter if it’s whole grains or not, gluten grains or not. Most people with digestive issues have trouble digesting certain sugars called disaccharides and polysaccharides. These sugars are found in grains, whether whole grains or not, so if you have fungal and/or bacterial overgrowth it’s best to avoid them.
Thanks! Do you know whether or corn is okay? I’m hoping since I’m going to be cutting down on the wheat that I can still eat corn chips (Fritos, Tostitoes, etc.).
Hi Dr. Axe. My name is Gina Duncan. Im 18 years old. Im vegan but suffer from insulin resistance. I recently had a sudden break out of acne, i feel exhausted, and my digestion is rather poor, I also have a lot of trouble losing weight. Do you think this could possibly be a case of candida? I’ve tried everything to rid myself of this acne, as ive never suffered from it before. I tend to gain weight around my midsection as well.
I have discovered that the episodes of my lower lip and chin going “numb” seem to actually be a rash or slight swelling under the skin. The chin area has begun to itch and burn a great deal. This has been a problem for at least two months, and I was terrified it might have been an indication of cancer. The affected area is in the exact center of my chin, and it extends up the middle to the bottom of my lower lip. It seems to swell whenever I eat certain things, so would love your advice on what I should do. Thanks
so i have never had a yeast infection in the 34 years of my life, last 2 checkups i did. i also ended up with a fungal infection on my feet like athletes foot dr said.have had that for months, now husband is broke out in a rash all over the body and got meds that read for a yeast/fungal infection, whats going on, we do share bath water cause we have a jacuzzi tub but kids dont have it????
Jessica – Even if you haven’t taken anti-biotics you can still have yeast overgrowth. Chlorine and Fluoride from tap water and many of the additives from the foods we eat can kill off good bacteria. I personally have a reverse osmosis water filter from Aquasana that works great!
No, certain types of fiber will actually cause good bacteria to grow and kill off bad bacteria.
I have issues with real bad stomach pains (ulcers) I want to do the apple cider and this Yeast and bacteria diet. but my stomach cannot seem to handle it.. what do you suggest?
This is a great video! Most people do not know that yeast overgrowth is the problem for many common ailments. I do probiotics daily and have used oil of oregano in the past. Can you tell me if oil of oregano is safe for pregnant women to use? And can a child age 2yrs. use oil of oregano?
Thanks so much!
Like I said, “that’s up to you”. That was just over a year ago so I can’t remember the exact site. I found it by doing a search on the subject. That was for a vaginal yeast infection. Through my 3 pregnancies I have found that oregano could help start labor by just eating Italian food covered with it and that’s just the spice not oil.
I will not tell a person that this or that will be help or fail. I will explain my uses and outcomes. It is up to that person to search for themselves. Out of my 34 years, trusting ones word with out finding my proof causes the ability to blame. When the “blame” is now mine because I didn’t search myself.
I will add that my son @ 5 months had a BAD yeast infection that broke out on his head and the oregano did not help. After a month and a half I turned to a man made med. I never do this unless going the natural route doesn’t work. That is the only time “man’s meds” should be used. It cleared and came back on his back, bottom, and legs. I tried oregano again, no help. Used citrucidail and coconut oil, still no help. I turned to my natrualist, Sandy Buttry, and she gave me a dose of vitamins that have cleared it up. They were used to help healthy bowel functioning, proteolytic enzymes in combination with pancreatin to support the digestion and absorption of proteins, and a probitoic that has a synergistic blend of 4 research-supported probiotic strains and 2 prebiotic fibers to support gut flora and overall intestinal health. It can be trying at times to remember the 3x a day dose, but he no longer itches and is very happy. I started my daughter on the same regimin last week cause she has a skin condition on her back, clearing up.
All in all it takes time to research and time to try all potential fixes. Each person’s body is diifrent and each fix is diffrent. Look them all up, their side effects, and go from there.
Hope this was more than helpful.
