Coconut Flour vs. Conventional Flour
What is coconut flour? Coconut flour is made entirely of dried, ground coconut meat so it’s completely free of any grains and gluten. It’s also a great alternative for people who have nut allergies and can’t consume almond flour.
Unlike conventional flour that typically only has nutrients due to enrichment or fortification, coconut flour is naturally high in protein, fiber and healthy fat. It’s also not high in calories or sugar and has a low score on the glycemic index.
Using coconut flour in this recipe amps up the nutrition and possible health benefits of this recipe without sacrificing flavor — a total win-win situation.
