Conventional body butters and body lotions can be full of chemicals and harmful synthetic fragrances. Instead, try this homemade whipped body butter recipe. It’s easy to make, cost effective and great for your skin.

It’s best applied after cleansing your skin thoroughly, such as with a coffee scrub or sugar scrub.

Key Ingredients

Shea butter is the star of the show here, as it comprises 50 percent of the ingredients. Made naturally from the shea tree, it’s extremely moisturizing and hydrating. When applied to the skin, it provides immediate softness and smoothness.

Coconut oil is next, as no oil works better for skin. Did you know that it’s loaded with good fats that provide us with energy, has hydrating properties, and is able to fight microbes within and outside the body? All true!

Jojoba oil is also of great help for the skin. A natural moisturizer, it can also remove sticky buildup or excess oil, keeping your oil levels balanced. That makes it a strong natural treatment for eczema as well as home remedy for acne, plus well suited for other dry-skin conditions.

Lastly, add the essential oil of your choice for added benefits as well as pleasant scents. Lavender oil and tea tree oil are two excellent choices.

How to Make Whipped Body Butter

Put shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba oil in glass bowl, then place that bowl in a sauce pan that is filled with water. Make sure to not allow any water to get into the bowl.

Heat stovetop to medium flame and mix oils together with a whisk. Whisk until completely melted.

Remove the glass bowl from the stove and let it cool for 30 minutes. Add in the essential oils and whisk again. Once mixed, put the bowl in the refrigerator for an hour or until solid.

Remove from the fridge. With a regular mixer or hand mixer, beat the oils until they are whipped and fluffy. Fill a glass jar with the whipped body butter mixture and store at room temperature.

Apply it after taking a shower or bath, when your skin is still wet. Enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup shea butter
  • ⅛ cup jojoba oil
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • 20 drops essential oil (lavender oil or tea tree oil are good choices)
  • medium-sized glass jar

Instructions

  1. Put shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba oil in glass bowl, then place that bowl in sauce pan that is filled with water. Do not allow any water to get into the bowl.
  2. Heat stove to medium and mix oils together. Whisk until completely melted.

    I use coconut oil, Shea butter and jojoba oil separately for penile health. I don’t use any essential Oils due to the sensitive nature of the area but I use it all over the mentioned area. It is good for sensitivity, getting rid of dry skin and is extremely moisturising. Penile health is something every man should be aware of as anything from the weather to ‘rough handling’ can effect it. I can only imagine the results of all three combined and whipped up, amazing I’m sure, I certainly will be trying this. Oh and make sure you get the best ingredients raw and unprocessed is best as I’ve found. Thanks for a great article

    My daughter-in-law has psoriasis and I thought your body butter lotion could help her. I had read that Melaluca and Roman Chamomile could be helpful.     Take jar of coconut oil and remove 1/3 jar. Add back 1/3 with cacao butter. Melt and mix. Lovely. Leave out essential oils if your skin is highly sensitive.

      Wow Tammy I hope somebody has answered you by now. TRUE essential oils can do amazing things for your memory and every other aspect of your life.
