Avocado Salad Wrap Recipe

Avocado lettuce wrap recipe - Dr. Axe

  • 2 avocados, cubed
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 6-8 romaine lettuce, roughly chopped


  1. Mix all ingredients, except the lettuce, in a bowl.
  2. Scoop out approx. 1/2 cup into gluten free wrap, add lettuce and roll.

Avocados were first used by the Aztecs and since have been highly sought after for their health benefits. Avocados are high in healthy mono-unsaturated fats such as oleic acid. They also have anti-inflammatory properties and are high in potassium, magnesium and fiber.  Try incorporating avocados into your diet with this easy avocado lettuce wrap recipe.

    Love avocados! This looks wonderful. I took your advice from one of your videos and ate some avocado when I couldn’t sleep. Wow! Thank you! I’ve been sleeping because when I can’t, I go eat half an avocado and then I fall asleep! How can this be? I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your advice!

    I’ve always loved wraps, and these ones look especially delicious! I love the idea of adding avocado, I’m sure that it adds a lot of flavor! I’m going to print off this recipe and make the wraps for lunch tomorrow. I think that adding a little bit of grilled chicken would also be a good idea, since it would help you get a little bit of extra protein in your diet, while adding even more flavor!     I am so confused by dr axe, he gives up information and tells people to eat gluten free, some drs says its ok to eat rice, some say no rice period, apparently dr axe doesn’t eat rice. So what is he makin soft taco shells out of.? Like the poor and middle class and afford almond flour.does he think that that atleastone person is home to to make these meals
    Most people are both working and does he really think that every family can buy grass feed meat. Its not happening. I live in Ny and. I can barely pay my rent, plus being on disability. Dr. Axe will probably help 1 million people but they will be of a higher income. He can’t even suggest one of his products, if you call support,they tell you he can’t answer any questions go too your Dr. Real nice.

      Sorry you are having problems here is my advice
      All veg all meat is gluten free as is fruit, so you cannot eat bread pasta
      You can eat any rice if you are on a budget buy chicken broth and beef broth concentrate to flavor 5.99 each by kitchen accomplice and goes a long way the flour u need is all purpose king Arthur measure for measure this is the most economical and you don’t have to buy all the others to make up a blend.I know where you are coming from on cost I have just been diagnosed as celiac and because I cook everything from scratch spent 500 to clear my kitchen out of flour sauces etc
      Tamari gf soya sauce good for Asian
      Luckily my favorite food is indian they use yogurt and lentils to thicken sauces, Thai uses fish sauce instead of soy I am still working on my Chinese recipes. Stay away from bluebell icecream they use wheat to thicken, you can have all vinegars except malt and you can cook with wine but need gf beer if using in stews. Beware of soda even ginger ale or any that use caramel on their label. Hope this is helpful

    I’m eating mostly raw veggies, some cooked and fruit, along with pumped up smoothies and juicing, for medical reasons. I loved wraps but miss them. Any other suggestions without having to make a wrap? Thank you

    Your Avocado salad wrap looks healthy and good, but it is missing 2 ingredients. Greek Tzatziki sauce and a dash of hot pepper sauce.
